Industry Insights & Significant Developments

Adding Innovation to Cart

The Consumer Goods and Products industry — responsible for the durable and nondurable items we buy every day — produces everything from foods, drinks, and electronics to vehicles, clothing, and those impulse Buc-ee's buys. It's a massive sector and a major driver of economic growth for Frisco. That is thanks, in large part, to the adoption of innovation and technology.

As the industry evolves to meet customer demands and introduces advanced solutions that satisfy their preferences, a transformation comes into view: Yesterday's cash-or-check market is today's technological mecca. With e-commerce, direct-to-consumer models, and tech-enhanced solutions for transactions, buying and selling in the modern era is easier than ever.

Making Moves

Our city attracts brands and companies from all over, with forward-thinking startups opting for Frisco to be the site of their genesis. And even though every brand has its own reasons for running operations out of Frisco over any other city in the world, there is always one shared through line: our culture of innovation.

From Keurig Dr Pepper to Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, Frisco is at the forefront of some of the most notable innovations happening in the sector. NWH – formerly Northwest Hardwoods – left the wooded canopies of Tacoma, Washington, for this part of North Texas because the city spoke to the lumber supplier's rebranding message rooted in a simplified customer experience achieved through innovation and professional excellence.

Meanwhile, Frisco opened its neighborhoods to FedEx Office to pilot its same-day delivery project, which deployed electric vehicles to deliver parcels to consumers in record time. Ruiz Mexican Foods cut the ribbon on its brand-new state-of-the-cart technology center, which develops and tests frozen foods with the help of consumer feedback. Toshiba showcased groundbreaking solutions in retail tech. GEA introduced smart solutions that reduce water, waste, and energy usage in its product portfolio. And the innovation continues.

Fast Fact: Ruiz Mexican Foods is the largest manufacturer of frozen burritos and other Mexican foods in the nation.
